On October 3, 2025, the LSBAE announced its intention to proceed with rule-making regarding this proposed amendment of LAC 46:I.Chapter 21, Architects Selection Board, in a summary report submitted that day to the Senate Committee for Commerce, Consumer Protection & International Affairs, House Commerce Committee, Senate President, and Speaker of the House.
On October 20, 2025, a Notice of Intent for the proposed amendment of LAC 46:I.Chapter 21, Architects Selection Board, was published in the Louisiana Register. The existing rules provide that a person desiring to fill a vacancy on the ASB shall deliver a written nomination to the board, that the board shall mail a ballot and official return envelope to all resident architects in Louisiana, that the ballots shall be returned in the official return envelope provided, and the return envelopes shall be stamped by the board office showing the date received.
The proposed rules simplify and modernize the process. A person desiring to fill a vacancy may indicate such interest by email. The distribution of ballots, voting, tabulation of votes, and notifications will be done electronically.
